FAVORITE THINGS

What I am reading:

I just finished this book and passed it along to a friend. The Common Rule is a great read if you are looking to maximize your daily habits. The author writes from a Biblical perspective and from his own experiences. I found the content to be helpful and immediately applicable.
I found this book through ‘suggestions’ while purchasing another title. I wouldn’t recommend this one to everyone, as some chapters were a slow read. I enjoyed the author’s story and picked up a few helpful principles.
I am about halfway through this book, and it is fascinating. The author writes from the expertise of a pastor and counselor. So far, the book has explored the differences between the brain and the mind, according to the Bible. Dr. Gifford explores the theology of the mind and then writes about the modern mental health epidemic that is plaguing many people, especially followers of Jesus.
I am working my way through this book as part of my doctoral work. It’s directed at marketing strategies for churches. It is an older title and is very outdated by today’s standards!
This is another title I am reading as part of my doctoral work. It is up to date and helpful, plus it contains great leadership concepts.

What I am listening to:

The Carey Nieuwhof Leadership podcast has been a favorite of mine for many years. Carey has a great long-form interview style that makes for an easy listen. His guests are leading experts in leadership, and I have learned so much from this content.
From the podcast channel description: “The Dr. John Delony Show is a caller-driven show that offers real people a chance to be heard as they struggle with relationship issues and mental health challenges.” I love this podcast and have learned many tools that help me as I often help people through relationship struggles. Delony is brilliant yet has a truthful approach that provides people with the tools they need to live their best lives.
The Likeability Podcast is a follow up resource to the Likeabilty book, written by my dad. This is a short-form podcast that unpacks helpful leadership principles from the Likeability book. I had the privilege to join my dad for episodes 29-32. You can listen to the podcast here and purchase the book here.
I love this podcast. Former Georgia Bulldog David Pollack teams up with his Pastor to discuss theology, application of Scripture, and family issues. A fun podcast to listen to.
I found Jamie McDonald recently and am enjoying her new album. She’s a soulful singer with powerful songs that tell stories of God’s goodness. If you check it out, listen to ‘My Family.’
