This morning on my walk, I thought about the song “Blessings” by Laura Story. Here’s part of the chorus:
Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
It’s so tempting to run away from or avoid the storms in our lives, somehow thinking avoidance of struggle is a good thing. But Jesus uses our storms to grow us in spiritual maturity and He uses our storms as a pathway to draw nearer to us.
I want to invite storms in my life knowing God’s promises are true and Jesus will meet me there. I pray for the courage to ask God to lead me into a storm so that I can know Him in greater ways.
