When the Apostle Paul of the Bible was explaining to others about his life of following Jesus, he testified that it was his expectation to be bold and courageous always, whether in life or in death. It’s a bold statement that I don’t imagine many people could honestly declare.
When Jesus calls us to follow Him by faith, He calls us to surrender. He invites us to exchange the life we created for ourselves for a much better life He created for us. He promises us the things we could never attain on our own because of our sinfulness. Those promises are eternal life with Him, peace and hope in the life we live, and intimacy and fellowship with our Creator.
As followers of Jesus, we must be willing to be fully surrendered to Jesus, whether in life or death. A life lived with Him and for Him is a life so much better than we could ever live for ourselves.
