Like the disciples in the New Testament, our primary calling is to Jesus. He has called us to follow Him and He promises to make us “fishers of men.” This means that as we follow Him, learn from Him, and obey Him, we will learn how to share His story with others.
To follow Jesus requires a great sacrifice. It means we must give up certain things in order to follow Him authentically. It also means that we leave everything behind; our old life, our old desires, and our former plan of trusting our own ways.
As followers of Jesus, let’s recognize that our lives should be radically different from the world. When we obey Jesus and follow Him, we will be different and we will stand out.
Leave your nets, leave your boat, and leave your former way of life and choose to follow Jesus. He is better and your life will never be the same.
