God doesn’t “help those who help themselves,” God helps those who recognize they are helpless. Our first step toward being right with God is understanding that our sin has crippled us in such a way that we cannot redeem ourselves. We need a redeemer who can help us move from helplessness to hopefulness.
God sent Jesus to the world as the Redeemer. He came to us in our helplessness so that we would have a pathway to peace with God. His ultimate sacrifice defeated sin, and He extends to us by His grace the gift of salvation.
God has good works prepared for each of us through His Son Jesus. Trust Him today and follow Him. As we obey Him, we can walk in the good works He has prepared for us.
