A prayer for today

One of the biggest battles I face personally as a leader and a follower of Christ is the tendency to live as if I don’t need anyone to help me. I can easily convince myself that a change of behavior or habits will always lead me to my desired results. But the biggest problem with that attitude is that on my best days I fall short of what is necessary to be made right with God.

In the economy of spirituality, I am perfectly positioned to be made right with God when I recognize that I am spiritually helpless. My indwelling sin has made self-redemption impossible. “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead…”

Each day is a new struggle to be fully surrendered to God. He works best through my life when I am fully surrendered to Him. My prayer for today is for the courage and strength to follow Jesus in full obedience. To recognize that my weakness is the perfect posture for God to use my life and leadership to impact others.
